AI Design is a general design package developed on top of AutoCAD software specifically for Mould & Die and general engineering designs. For drafting, AI Design provides a variety of productive drafting functions such as Line Construction, Editing Tools, Layer Tools and PLine Editing Tools to help users design faster. The Layer Manager feature allows users to customize layer in groups so that the desired layers can be opened with a single click, greatly improving layer management.

One of the major features of AI Design is the ability to create holes with machining attributes such as drilling, tapping, reaming, counter bore, WireCut etc. Instead of drawing circles or inserting blocks to each of the layers manually, AI Design's Hole function allows users to create a set of holes in all related layers in batch. All the holes created are fully associated when users move, mirror, erase or copy the holes. Users can also edit the properties of the holes such as size, depth, layer etc. by using the Hole Data Sheet command. Users can setup a hole database for holes that need to be used frequently. The Hole Manager can be used to organize the holes in groups for quick insertion into the drawing.

AI Design provides several ways to generate the detailing for the hole. The Hole List, Hole Table and Hole Leader commands can be chosen to display the dimension and detailing of the holes automatically. This will reduce the time for detailing and dimensioning significantly. Also, the Auto Dimension function will further enhance the productivity of dimensioning - when adding additional ordinate dimensions to the drawing, if there are overlapping dimensions, the system will adjust the dimension's position automatically to avoid such overlapping. The Smart Dimension and List Dimension functions provide other productive dimension options.

In order to take full advantages of AI Design's hole functions, AI Design provides quick circle to hole converting functions to allow users to convert existing drawing from circles to holes.
